Bulk-billed Comprehensive Eye Examinations

A comprehensive eye examination takes around thirty minutes. The examination commences with a searching history, where we try to find out if you are experiencing any difficulties with your eyes or with your vision. We like to get to know you, what you do for a living, your hobbies and interests, so that we can make sure to tailor our advice and recommendations to your particular lifestyle needs. We like to know if you are having any troubles with your health, as this can sometimes affect your eyes. We also like to know if you had eye troubles in the past, or if any of your family members have had troubles, as this might be important. We know that with the pressures of daily living, it is easy to feel like you are being rushed at times, so we make every endeavour to give you enough time to convey information, and to make decisions during a test.

Contact Lens Fitting, Instruction, and Aftercare Programs

After an initial assessment, free trial contact lenses are worn to determine your ability to handle and wear contact lenses. Successful trials result in extremely happy contact lens wearers, as contact lenses provide a great alternative to spectacles in so many situations, from weddings, to sport, to holidays in exotic locations, to everyday situations at school or in the workplace.

Visual Fields Analysis

Our Optopol PTS 910 visual field screener, imported from Poland, provides fast and accurate threshold visual field testing in around six minutes per eye. Diseases such as glaucoma can affect peripheral vision before any symptoms are noticed. Peripheral vision is so important for tasks such as driving, and for mobility in general, and results from the Optopol field tests can be printed in hard copy immediately after the test is performed.

Dilated Diabetic Examinations

Diabetes is a common cause of vision loss, and we can work closely with your general practitioner or endocrinologist to ensure that your eyes are staying healthy. We can perform Digital Retinal Photography to enable even better monitoring and evaluation of the important retinal blood vessels.

Glaucoma and Macula Screenings

Measuring of eye pressure is so simple with our state of the art Keeler Pulsair Non-Contact tonometer. A gentle air puff replaces the need for fluorescing anaesthetic drops, so you can leave our shop with clean eyes, instead of the messy yellow eyes often associated with other forms of pressure measurement. Careful observation of your optic nerve and macula is performed to assess the health of your eyes. Once again, Digital Retinal Photography is an additional tool we can use in our  management of your eyes with these conditions.

Screen-Based Equipment Screenings

Computer use is an integral part of the day in many workplaces. The Screen-Based Equipment Screening is a series of tests designed to determine a person’s ability to effectively see and use computers in the workplace.

Driving Assessments

Good vision is an essential element for maintaining safety on the roads. We can provide assessment and reports for all types of motor vehicle licences, as well as Boating licence assessments.

Laser Corrective Surgery Evaluations and Reviews

For anyone wanting to explore their ability to achieve better vision without the need for spectacles or contact lenses, we can perform a number of tests to determine your suitability before referring you to the appropriate Laser clinics in Melbourne. Post operative reviews can also be performed in store, eliminating the need for time consuming travel back to the surgeon.

Foreign Body and Ingrowing Eyelash Removals

We perform removal of superficial foreign bodies from minor accidents at work or around the garden. For those who experience annoying ingrowing eyelashes, we can perform eyelash removal for satisfying relief.

Children’s Vision Testing

Eyesight is so important to learning in our early years. We can perform eye testing for your children from the age of six months, and recommend that all children have their eyes tested before they complete their first year of school.
